Night was a wonderful book. I have always been really interested in the Holocaust, so this book gave me a great insight to what was really going on. Night was attention-grabbing, and informed me so well on the Holocaust.

As soon as I opened Night, I couldn't stop reading. In school when we have to do papers on the Holocaust, and research about the Holocaust, I always get very involved. The Holocaust was one of the most terrible things I have ever heard of. In this book, the vision of the holocaust became clearer, and more horrid.

I never imagined anyone could ever do the things Hitler did to all those people. I didn't even know about some of the stuff that was going on in those camps! It just seems like no one could ever be that evil in this world. When I was reading parts of Night, it just seemed like I was reading some crazy make believe story, but its real and burned into some peoples hearts and minds forever.

Night, was amazing. I can't describe how the book made me feel. I can tell you that I appreciate everything I have and that nothing has happened to me like the Holocaust because of this book. It was great and I definately recommend you read it, especially if you like learning about the Holocaust as much as I do.

***my spring break

My spring break was great! To start it off, I went to searcy to see my dad. Which was probably the best part of it because I love my dad. I stayed down there most of the week, seeing friends and catching up with all that I've missed.

I visited my previous school, Harding Academy. Harding was full of rules to follow and was very strict, but I still love going to see my coaches and teachers, because they're wonderful people!

I came back to batesville with my grandmother, and went shopping that weekend. I ran almost everyday during my break, so when I would come back to school I would be ready to start running track for the lady pioneers again. :)

The weather wasn't all that great during my break, but I still had a good break getting to spend time with the ones I love and miss so much.

Google is probably one of the most helpful things on the web. It's also very easy to use. Just type in what you're looking for and hit search! I really enjoy the fact that you can look up pictures on there. I also like the fact that you can save your paper, or whatever you're working on, on Google Docs. Once you save it on there, if you can get to a computer and get on Google, you can access your paper from anywhere! If I ever have a project, paper, or anything like that I usually go to Google, because it's fast, easy, and very reliable!

I've learned the reasons the Germans killed all those people. I just didn't know why they did it, but now I know its just because they were 'inferior' which is a totally riiculous reason. I really don't think a holocaust could happen again. I think that something close to it might happen, but not just one race or that reasoning. I think someone will come along and try to kill everyone just to talke over the world, not because we are 'inferior." They closest thing i can really connect to the holocaust is the nuclear bomb korea was trying to launch off over here. The attempt failed, but I think they tried to do it to prove they have more power.

MY INITIAL THOUGHTS ON THE HOLOCAUST

The Holocaust had to be one of the most horrible things in the world's history. So many people were killed, just for their beliefs. The torture and the pain that they put those people through on themselves, and their families, to me is devistating.

I don't judge people. I like to get to know them first before I say anything. What Hitler did was just... I can't even explain it! Killing Jews just because they believe something different, and for world domination is ridiculous! No one deserves being put in gas chambers, lined up by a huge hole (dug up probably by their own self) and shot, and watching their families get taken off and killed. I can't even image how some of those people must feel.

I really feel sorry for those people who tried to leave, or sneak food in for themselves and others. The punishment for that is still just terrible. Being beaten for trying NOT to starve, is a sad and crucial punisment. I seriously can't image how one human can do that to thousands of people. The children didn't even have a chance in this whole thing because they couldn't do hard labor.

The Holocaust is definately one of my worst nightmares. I would hate to see something like this happen again. Some Jews are still scared and skeptical about things because of this event. Personally, I don't blame them.

End of level testing... There are so many things I could say about this test. The test was so long, hard, and tiring.

The E.O.L. (end of level) took two days to complete. The juniors started at 8:00 a.m. to about 12:30 p.m. or so both of those days. We had breaks in between each section though, to eat food and talk and just let our brains recoop from what they just had to think through. I would have to say that the test least worst quality of this test was being long, because I got to spend time with some of my friends and miss some classes.

The sections of the test did take time only because there was some hard questions. The questions actually wasn't too hard, but you just had to look back and make sure you were right and had the right information. The only tip I can give to future E.O.L. takers is that you must take your time, do things right, and definately double check. Another thing that would help is if you're not sure of a question move on to the next question, but don't forget to go back.

After two days of testing I was definately tired. That test had gotten the best of me. I probably had gotten the best sleep I have ever had since I don't even know when! But its definately worth it if I don't get remediated. That definately help me sleep at night!

E.O.L was an important test. So you know how well you are at english, and that you don't get remediated. It wasn't so bad though because we ate, talked, and had fun in between!

lit circle theme

The theme in The Indian Captive is about a girl, that has challenges that most people dont face at her age. She goes from having to live a normal little girls life, to facing challenge after challenge of accepting indian ways. She shows courage, strength, determination, love and trust that most people do not show at her age. This book is great and keeps you intertained as she turns from her past, and prepares for the future.

my pioneer

I would have to say that my pioneer would have to be my dad. My dad has always been there for me and always tries his best to get me what I need. My dad is like my best friend because he is someone I can always talk to and always turn to. I have so many memories with my dad that I will cherish forever! When people say a pioneer is someone that never quits, I think of my dad. No matter what I do I know he will always be here for me, and thats what a pioneer is about.
